A pair of ice skates will serve the purpose, but if you don’t own one, there is no need to worry as you can find a pair at a low price.
Ice fishing
If you are a fan of fishing during the warmer months, then fishing during the cold season can be fun. It is a unique and exciting way to fish. You can purchase bait from the local bait shops, but you need to be cautious when ice fishing since it can turn tragic if the ice is not thick. Places to avoid ice fishing are the rivers since it is harder for moving water to form thick ice. Safe places to do ice fishing include ponds and lakes.
Snow Camping
Snow camping can be exciting and memorable if a person has the right gear. It might seem impossible or difficult to go camping during the winter season, but here are some of the reasons why you should give it a try. There are high chances you will be alone out there, and you do not have to worry about crowds. There are also no ticks, bugs, rain, or poison ivy. Some of the activities during the camping period include;

● Stargaze
● Building a bonfire
Go Snowshoeing
Each family has to try this amazing game of snowshoeing. All that is required is the right gear though it doesn’t require much. The cost of the snowshoes is way below the price of skiing for two days. The snowshoes can last longer if taken good care of.
Go on a Treasure Hunt
The game involves both parents and children. In this case, the parent makes frozen gems with ice and food color for the children to find. The frozen gems are made by filing an ice cube tray with water and then adding a couple of drops of food coloring. Put the tray in the freezer until they freeze. Hide the cube-like gems in the yard for your kids to find.
Play in the Backyard
Some of the days will require you to stay at home. Well, no need to get bored as you can involve yourself in games in your backyard. Some of the activities you can involve yourself include
● Making snow angel
● Blowing bubbles freeze on the wand, if the temperature is below 32 degrees
● Make an animal sculpture out of snow
● Draw on the snow using sticks

Instead of kids being stuck indoors for the whole day, they can paint the snow, which is an entertaining outdoor activity. However, they are a few things which are required;
● Food coloring in the three primary colors: red, blue, and yellow
● A spray bottle and paintbrushes
A child needs to follow a simple procedure to make the spray paint. First, fill the bottle with water and then add food color to the desired depth. A child can make different colors using the primary colors available by mixing them. Children can make snowmen or snow forts and then decorate them using paint.
Plogging
Plogging is a game that requires a person to go jogging picking up litter simultaneously. The game is slowly being adopted worldwide, as it offers more health benefits than jogging. According to studies, plogging is better than jogging since it requires a person to squat and bend while jogging. The study also reveals that plogging burns more than 50 calories per 30-minute workout.
Not much is required to start plogging, just cold weather running gear like thermal ring tights and moisture-wicking beanies. Another requirement is a plastic latex glove to pick up the trash and a trash can.
Snowball fight
A snowball fight is an exhilarating winter activity that lets you challenge your friends to see who’s better at throwing snowballs. You can play the game either by throwing snowballs at people or by hitting targets. The targets deserve attention because they are fun and great for training hand-eye coordination and physical fitness. So, if you want to get in shape, you might want to organize a regular snow-fight club! Tastes differ, so some kids prefer snowballs filled with water.
