We often idolise western nations for their liberal policies and plenty of opportunities, and we end up idolising them uncritically. We admire them even when we’re merely discussing their heritage, a higher standard of living, or even enjoying Hollywood films that give us a peek of their country; there’s a part of us that is drawn to what we see.
One would assume that this is the same level of inquiry or respect that we would receive from folks in the west, especially from the well-informed and educated people, but it appears that they have some extremely racist things to say about us. They not only don’t care about us; what we have done for their country but also hate our country’s heritage from the core.
A controversial US law professor has generated uproar once again for her bigoted remarks against immigrants and refugees, this time focusing on Indians.
Amy Wax, a University of Pennsylvania law professor, made some very nasty statements about immigrants and India in a recent Fox interview with political analyst Tucker Carlson, referring to our country as a “shithole” and attacking immigrants for being critical of the US. During a segment on Tucker Carlson’s show, she said that “Blacks” and other “non-western” groups had “resentment, shame, and envy” over western people for their “outsized achievements and contributions.”
Wax, also a neurologist by profession, then went on to criticise Indian immigrants, claiming that they were critical of everything in the United States while “their own country is a sh**hole.” Wax chastised Asians and South Asians, notably Indian doctors at Penn Medicine, who she described as “on the ramparts for the antiracism initiative to dump on America.”
The 69-year-old professor also singled out Indian Brahmin ladies in the audience by saying,
“Here’s the problem. They (Brahmin women from India) are taught that they are better than everybody else because they are Brahmin elites and yet, on some level, their country is a sh**hole. “They’ve realised that we’ve outgunned and outclassed them in every way… They feel anger. They feel envy. They feel shame… It creates ingratitude of the most monstrous kind.”
Penn Law Professor Amy Wax attacks Indian immigrants in United States, says “at some level their country (India) is a shithole”. When will these disgusting illiterate racists stop exposing themselves?
It’s ironic that in between saying these things, she forgot that it is immigrants who are driving their economy. At least, she should say a simple thanks to these immigrants and respect them for what they had done for their country.
It’s not only about India, no country can attack any legal immigrant like this. It is true that some countries like the USA have lots of opportunities but they themselves give these opportunities to other countries’ citizens. We are not begging for any opportunity. Immigrants got that opportunity because they deserved it. They worked tirelessly for other’s countries to make it a hit. If she doesn’t want to give respect, at least she should shut her mouth.
People on Twitter were outraged with her comments and slammed Wax for her xenophobic statements
America the land of opportunities thrives on Indian talent, instead of making Racist America great, its better to work for your own country. Brain drain is India’s biggest problem.
I think the “shit hole” comment was uncalled for as it generalizes all Indians and India, but her larger point about “wokesim”by elite Indians who made it there is correct, me thinks. There are number of those people on the coasts who also diss India @kushal_mehra@harshmadhusudan
1. Let’s accept it. India has great people, but we lack great institutions 2. We know that many no. of Americans are racists 3. There’s new trend in USA to keep talking about “brahmin” privilege. They understand nth on the subject, but keep bringing it up to divide us.
When those people become citizens / PRs / residents of the US or Canada, they get the right to criticize the system or country. They have as equal rights to do that as any American or Canadian born white person. Those people are not second-class citizens. #colonialslavemindset 🤦
Clueless white skin attacking Brahmins. Wonder if she would even know how to spell Brahmin let alone know what they stand for. And she is from a country that attacks other countries at will and engineers ‘regime changes’ to suit their greed!
How does she know who is Brahmin, who is not? Is she referring to the intelligent lot that comes into the US and assumes they are Brahmin? Interesting…
This is how they think about Indians & we feel proud when an Indian become CEO in a American company.

A topic that was also posed to her during a podcast interview, during which she made even more obnoxious and racist remarks, which led to a discussion about her being dismissed despite being an appointed professor at the University of Pennsylvania.
And the thing about all brahmin women which she said is totally unaccepted. We know there are some problems in our country, but that’s our problem and we are already trying to solve it. But it doesn’t mean anyone can label every Brahmin as same like we didn’t label every American as racist after hearing Wax’s thinking. What she did is also a casteism on a different level and she is no different from those fringe elements who made casteism so prominent in India.
