Indian musician Shantanu Mukherjee, better known by his stage name Shaan, has had a big effect on the country’s music scene. He began his musical career as a young boy by singing jingles for commercials. However, if you ask anyone who is Shaan, then you will definitely see the change he brings to himself and the industry.

He was born into a musical family and is the son of a well-known music director. He got his first break in 1995 as a playback vocalist in the movie Balwaan, and since then, he has never looked back. His song Chaand Taare became an immediate smash.

However, his ability to engage his fans is what sets him apart from other celebrities. He has a great demeanor, and his fans always hail him for it. To make his fans happy, he always posts something different on his social media profiles. Recently, on the occasion of Eid, he did the same by wearing a skull cap. However, his simple-looking gesture irked many netizens, with several of them trolling him for doing so.

Nevertheless, despite the fact that Shaan is not someone who wants to hate anyone, he gives a befitting reply to naysayers for trolling him. So, let’s have a look at what happened:

Shaan hits out at haters who trolled him for wearing a skull cap

It all started when, on Thursday, Shaan posted a picture on Instagram to wish his fans, Eid Mubarak. In the picture, he is seen wearing a skull cap and offering a dua. He captioned his post:

Eid Mubarak to You and Your Family.

Unfortunately, instead of receiving warm wishes from his fans, Shaan received few hateful comments from some trolls

Netizens criticized him for dressing up as a Muslim despite being a Hindu.

Shaan hit back at the trolls

However, the singer didn’t back down and responded to the trolls by expressing his belief in respecting all religions equally. He also disabled the comments after facing backlash over the post.

Soon after, Shaan posted a video and expressed his disappointment over the trolling he received. Moreover, he was also quick to clarify that the photo was from three years ago, from his music video titled Karam Karde. He wrote,

Usme ye Look Tha .. toh socha it goes with the occasion .. bas itni si baat.

He mentioned that he chose the look for the occasion and did not mean to offend anyone. He added,

Since childhood, I was taught to celebrate all festivals and respect every religion. This is what I believe in, and this is what every Indian should believe in too. Baaki aapki soch aapko Mubarak.
