Sajid AKA Shahab Ali Says His Intimate Scenes With Samantha Were Deleted From The Family Man 2

Released in 2019, The Family Man season 1 received rave reviews. The 10 episode series sees the life of Srikant Tiwari, played by Manoj Bajpayee, who is flitting between his clandestine government job and his role in the family. Whereas in season 2, we saw Srikant settle for a corporate job, but he ends up back in the force. The story also saw another mind-boggling character of Samantha Akkineni, whose phenomenal acting skills instantly made the show a big hit. Samantha plays the role of Rajalakshmi Chandran, AKA Raji, who is an activist. She is seen as the antagonist on the show with Sajid, played by Shahab Ali.

Actor Shahab Ali, who played the role of Sajid in the web series, recently revealed that there were intimate scenes between his character and Samantha Akkineni’s aka Raji.

However, those were edited out in the final cut of the show. Shahab Ali has featured in both the seasons of The Family Man while Samantha was seen in the second season. On the show, we witnessed an undercurrent of a romantic angle between their characters as they spent a lot of time together to finish the mission.

In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Shahab went on to speak about the chemistry between the two. Shahab mentioned that there were few scenes with Samantha that didn’t make it to the final show. He said,

“It is not just the intimate scenes. It was the usual process – you have a lengthy show and there is the process of editing which comes later. It was not like a particular scene was edited out. I think only those scenes were kept that were required and logical for the show. The parts that were not logical were not kept, so it’s not like that.”

When Shahabh was asked if he has any intimate scenes shot with Samantha in The Family Man 2,

“We did some suggestive scenes that suggested that they fall in love towards the end. But those scenes were not making sense for the creators, or maybe for the platform. So, those scenes were edited out. There are so many scenes edited out, so it is not a big deal actually, that’s the process.”

Their roles as extremists have been highly praised by the audience and made it one of the gripping shows. He also remembered how he didn’t know how to drive but had to learn for a few episodes.
