Russia is currently waging a full-fledged war on Ukraine, with missiles pouring down on many Ukrainian cities. After weeks of border tensions over Ukraine’s desire to join the US-led international military alliance NATO, Russia started a military operation in the country on Thursday.
In this situation, many people who are citizens of another country and are currently residing in Ukraine for various reasons are stuck in a war-torn country without having any plan to go to their homes. Though Ukraine has a large pool of Indian nationals, this war-made havoc also wrecked on them. Although many countries such as the United States of America leave their nationals in a war-zone saying that they can’t help them.
Earlier, Harsh Vardhan Shringla, India’s Foreign Secretary, claimed the administration had provided warnings before the situation in Ukraine deteriorated. According to him, 4,000 of our citizens departed before the conflict as a result of this advice. We believed about 15,000 people remained in Ukraine.
While many people left the country already, some people are still stranded in the different parts of Ukraine, even after receiving advisories many times.
But India since the days of the gulf war, left no stone unturned to bring our citizens back to their homes
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that his administration is “working day and night” to repatriate Indians who have been stuck in Ukraine. He continued by that their government “left no stone unturned” to bring our countrymen back wherever there was turmoil. Meanwhile, Hardeep Singh Puri, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kiren Rijiju, and Gen (Retd) VK Singh, Union Ministers, would fly to Ukraine’s surrounding nations to oversee the evacuation.
In the wake of this crisis, the Indian government started the multi-pronged ‘Operation Ganga’ to rescue Indian residents stuck in Ukraine after Russia attacked it, amid the current Russia-Ukraine conflict. The ambitious project has already brought back many Indians from Ukraine but many returned people still faced so many problems in their own country.

But on the other side, people are criticizing her for unwanted demands citing that what the government did is enough is for her and she had to bear her own expenses when she was in her own country. Some are even saying that 6000 rupees are not a big amount that she can’t afford and her family her also well of. Some asked why did she not leave Ukraine earlier, despite receiving many advisories. So, she doesn’t have to demand more when she is already getting more.
