If you have ever traveled using the Indian Railways, then finding unruly passengers on the train wouldn’t come as a surprise to you. Disorderly passengers create a ruckus on the train thereby making the journey of the passengers disturbing. Under Section 167 of the Railways Act, smoking or drinking inside trains or on railway premises is strictly prohibited. However, despite everything, some people still light a cigarette and smoke when they travel by train.
Recently, the video of a man smoking in front of children and senior citizens on a moving train has gone viral on the internet.
Here’s what happened:
A man was caught smoking in front of children and senior citizens on the train
On Sunday, Manish Jain, a Twitter user (@jainmanish0906) posted a video and a photo of a person lighting a cigarette inside a moving train. Manish tagged the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation and the Ministry of Railways in his tweet, sharing the details of the train, seat number, and coach. Then he wrote that the person was not only smoking a cigarette on the train which is punishable by law but also abusing those who asked him not to smoke in front of senior citizens and children.

In response to the tweet, Railway Seva, the official Twitter account wrote back,

Some of the netizens however are enraged and not satisfied with the action taken by RPF, while many are in awe of the quick action taken by RPF. They are shocked that the man was just let off the hook with just a warning when his action could have easily endangered the lives of fellow passengers and posed harm to public property.
These passengers must be arrested for endangering lives of many and also to public property.
