Abiding by traffic norms should never be taken for granted yet some people fail to understand that. Road safety measures are set for the general benefit of the public so it is the responsibility of the citizens to follow them. Visuals of traffic rule violations are captured by the cops and sent to the respective individual’s registered mobile number to notify them of the act thereby insisting they pay the fine money.

In a recent case that has come to light via social media, an individual riding a bike without a helmet was captured by Pune City police. The image was then shared with the concerned man named Melvin Cherian. Later Melvin, taking to Twitter, replied with arrogance.

Man Says 'I look good', After Challan For No Helmet, Here's Pune Police's Reply

Melvin, who is identified as a fitness entrepreneur on his social media, took to Twitter to jest with the Pune Police force evidently justifying his own behaviour. Here is what he said:

Melvin Cherian, whose shot was captured by the Pune police, didn’t wear a helmet during his ride in the city. He thanked the Pune police for clicking his candid shots from the streets, claiming that he looks good without a helmet through his tweets. He had the audacity to tweet while tagging the police team’s Twitter handle.

He added,

“Thank you, Pune City Police. I look good…” “Will pay the chalan though,”

The Pune city police also didn’t hold back from jabbing back at him and took to Twitter to reply in this regard

Awaiting his challan they wrote a humourous reply,

“Sure. P.S: A black helmet will go very well with that nice black jacket though.”

To which the accused further replied,

Yes sir

Further, Melvin tweeted by tagging Pune City police that he had paid the challan by sharing a screenshot and also wrote that he would also buy the black helmet suggested by them. He tweeted,

@PuneCityPolice challan paid, and I promise to buy a nice black helmet as you suggested. 😁

Media houses have made me famous though. I got some 5-6 clients since yesterday as the media was gracious enough to address me as a Fitness Entrepreneur

To this, the Pune City police replied back by applauding his gesture,

Agree with you. 👍

..and applaud the attitude of citizens like you who talk about paying the challan amount publicly.

The man also responded to The Free Press Journal’s article about him, he tweeted,

Recently, legal action is taken against motorcycles with modified silencers that generate a lot of noise pollution. As per their special campaign declared by the Pune police on Twitter.

Twitter campaigns are being run by the Pune police on various topics ever since the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic started. While some are devoted to capturing the candid, lighter, and fun moments from the police deployment, others use memes, hashtags, and trending topics to raise awareness about Covid-appropriate behaviour.

This is not the first time this has happened. In fact, a similar incident was observed in Bengaluru by a Twitter user named Felix Raj. The Bengaluru Traffic Police’s decision was contested by the Twitter user to provide evidence of his traffic violation in October, only to have them slam back with proof within minutes, leaving him ashamed.

The challan issued to the above-mentioned user, Felix Raj, was also for failing to wear a helmet on the streets. Bengaluru Traffic Police, when contested for the fine imposed, posted a CCTV image of him operating a scooter without a helmet.

After all, following the traffic rules is the duty of a responsible citizen and we should respect and follow them seriously.

What do you think about the man’s reply to the police? Was it arrogant or fun? Let us know in the comments.

Coming across train service complaints on social media is nothing new. Very often than not we find passengers complaining about bland food or bugs in the cooked food provided to them. Quite recently someone took to Twitter regarding a complaint where they found plastic in the railway food. But the latest thing that happened has actually stunned everyone when a video of the roof of a passenger coach train surfaced online.

Indian Railways slammed over water leakage in AC coach

Netizens have harshly criticized the poor management and maintenance of the train coaches after a surprising video surfaced online. Recently, a video went viral on social media platforms in which it can be clearly seen rainwater seeping in through the roof of the 2-tier AC coach of the Avantika Express. The Congress party also reshared the video uploaded by a passenger and took to Twitter to play the blame game immediately.

The tweet said,

“काश खोखले प्रचार की जगह रेलवे के लिए कुछ काम किया होता। झंडी दिखाने वाले रेल मंत्री अभी विदेश में हैं, नाम वाले रेल मंत्री ध्यान दें। (Wish some actual work would have been done for the Railways in place of empty propaganda. The railway minister who shows the flag is currently abroad, the named railway minister should pay attention)”

It was a jab at the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, who recently flagged off 11 Vande Bharat Express, the Railways’ newest hi-tech train.

Railways response to the above-mentioned tweet

The Western Railway took to Twitter to respond to that tweet hours later and stated that all the coaches of the Avantika Express train were properly checked.

Many Twitter users have either chosen sarcasm or disappointing words to slam the Railways.

This is probably not the first time that something has happened as per the claims of this Twitter user,
