Many a time it happens that passengers urgently need to meet the TTE but don’t end up finding one. The people onboard often panic and look around for the TTE in expectation of solutions to their existing troubles but can’t really find one.
Thus, Indian railways have made certain new arrangements, which can definitely make finding the TTE on the train hassle-free. According to a notification by the Indian Railways, the berth and seat number of TTE and security guards in all categories of trains will be permanently fixed. So instead of wandering and looking for him in every coach on the train one can easily find them in need.
This news could be really helpful to the frequent travelers in Indian Railways. Especially the passengers traveling on RAC categories and waiting tickets can now look for the TTE regarding the availability of passenger seats. Often it has happened that the waiting list passengers had to travel the entirety of their journey without a seat. It becomes very cumbersome on the part of the aggrieved passengers as well as the co-passengers. This is a great initiative taken by the Indian Railways.
Here is where you can find a TTE on the train:
In case you are traveling in Rajdhani and Intercity trains
Along with the Rajdhani and Shatabdi Express, other Express and Mail trains will also have a fixed berth for the TTE of the respective trains. In every sleeper coach, seat number 7 has been allotted to the TTE of these trains. While if you are traveling on the Intercity train, then seat number 1 of every alternate coach is where you can easily find the official i.e. D1, D3, and D5.
If you are traveling in Chair Car (Garibath) then seat number 7 in alternate coaches (i.e. G1, G, 3, G5, G7) is where you can look for a TTE on the train. While if you are traveling in the economy coach of Chair Car, you will find the TTE at seat number 7 of coach B1 and BE1.
Passengers traveling on the Superfast trains would find the TTE in berth number 5 of an A1 coach. For all Superfast category trains, berth number 5 is kept fixed for TTE in A1 coaches. While RPF and GRP staff, have been allotted berth number 63 in coach number S1 by the Indian Railways.
