Sanjay Leela Bhansali initially offered the main role to Madhuri Dixit first, because of her very busy schedule she turned the offer down. Later she worked in the film Devdas which was also by Bhansali.
3. Hum Saath Saath Hain (1999) – Tabu
In this film, Tabu’s role was first offered to Madhuri. The reason Madhuri rejected the film was that she didn’t film the script very impressive. For her the script was very bland and was quite impactful, henceforth it got a big no from Dixit.
4. Darr (1993) – Juhi Chawla
This film was one of the reasons SRK’s career took a huge turn. The plot and storyline are somewhat well known to people. Madhuri was offered the role which Juhi Chawla played. But she declined the offer because of her busy schedule.
5. 1942: A Love Story (1994) – Manisha Koirala
Yet another role was played by Manisha Koirala cause Madhuri rejected it. This film was the hub of some iconic songs like Ek ladki Ko Dekha to Aisa Laga.
Though it was highly anticipated by the people to see Madhuri and Anil’s on-screen romance, Madhuri turned down the role.
6. Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999) – Aishwarya Rai
While some fans thank god that Madhuri rejected the role. Since it is partially unimaginable for people to see Madhuri instead of Aishwarya Rai playing the role. Though it was a beautiful role and Madhuri would’ve nailed it! But she denied and it worked out very well career-wise for Aishwarya.

While we still drool over the acting and songs of the film, it was also highly appreciated for its filmography. Back then Baazigar was a very ‘big thing’ since Kajol was playing the lead role. It could’ve easily been a huge hit (not that it did not) having Madhuri as a second role to it.
