Though the characters are completely fictional and it has no resemblance to real life. But it is kinda thought off that a writer always portrays the way they see their world through their words. It may not be the exact way they see it, but we do get a little glimpse of it.
Bollywood films are mainly based on the characters more than the plot of the story, mostly. Their the story with sort of the same plot sharing the same kinda character skills, but a huge difference was made in how they were written. The huge gap between the writing of a man and a woman about male characters in Bollywood is far off different.
Let’s take a look at some of those characters:
1. Trio friendship
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara was written by Zoya Akhtar. Meanwhile, Masti was written by Tushar Hiranandani.
2. A single man’s character
Piku was written by Juhi Chaturvedi, portraying a very kind, calm, and patient man who was trying his best not to lose this calm in the most heated up situations.
Kabir Singh, written by, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, portrayed a man who easily slapped and manipulated the girl he loved. True love it seems?
3. Rejecting a woman
Dear Zindagi was written by Gauri Shinde while Dev.D was written by Vikramaditya Motwane. Both of the stories have a subplot where they had to turn down an offer by a woman, and we all know how did it go.
4. Friendship bond
Dil Dhadakne Do was written by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti. Where they portrayed a very good friendship between the two and never failed to stand up for the stupid thing that was faced in the society.
Whereas Luv Ranjan’s characters in Pyaar Ka Punchnama kind only focused on bashing and finding faults in one’s girlfriend.
5. Musicians
Where Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar wrote about the success and rising story of a rapped and musician in Gully Boy.
Imitiaz Ali wrote about a struggling Rockstar, with some weird addiction to his character sketch. Strange.
6. Romantic betrayal
Raazi was written by Bhavani Iyer and Meghna Gulzar. Raanjhanaa was written by Himanshu Sharma.
7. Heartbreak
October with a very sweet and subtle tone to it was written by Juhi Chaturvedi. While Gunday with violence and very gory scenes were written by Abbas Zafar.
