A very common issue pet owners face is finding a way to travel with their pets. It is not always feasible to leave one’s beloved pet behind while you are about to have fun traveling. A man from Bengaluru happened to plan a trip with his family and pet dog. But things went sour when Air India refused to allow the pooch onboard.
Sachin Shenoy revealed that he had booked the tickets in advance and was going on a 12-day trip to Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. He and his family boarded AI 503, a flight from Bengaluru to Delhi, and then Amritsar. He was accompanied by his wife and daughter.
The man posted a video on Twitter stating that despite having a boarding pass Air India did not allow the pet dog onboard
His words in the video went viral where he said,
“We were in constant touch with Air India regarding flying our pet dog, Fluffy, with us, as per the rules and procedures laid down by the airlines”
He also said,
“Our pet weighs 4.2 kilograms and with the bag she is hardly five kilograms heavy. As per the rules, she can fly inside the cabin. She got all checks done and was issued a boarding pass”
Mr. Shenoy also revealed that they patiently waited for over four hours and their pet did not create a fuss. Fluffy was petted by nearly 250 people at the airport.
When they were about to board the flight they were notified that
“The pilot, Captain Chopra, denied entry to us or that is what was told to us”
He also said in the video that it appeared the flight was overbooked.
He shared his ordeal and disappointment by saying,
“We were told that you can leave your pet and go…It is as good as leaving your kid and flying”
He claimed that he had suffered significant losses as he had made all the travel and hotel bookings in his destination city three months ago.
The airline rules state that the pet needs to be brought to the airport and a ‘Fit to Fly’ certificate is supposed to be issued. The pet’s weight needs to be less than 5 kg.
Air India responded to the video after the airline was labeled as ‘anti-pet’
After the video went viral it was shared by several netizens who called the airlines ‘anti-pet’. Air India issued a response and stated,
“Sir, we love our furry friends as much as you do. Our Bengaluru Airport team had extended all support to ensure your Fluffy could fly with us on board.”

On giving reasons on why Fluffy was denied entry, the airline further expressed that,
“The commander of the flight was not fully satisfied with the cage and muzzle of the pet”
Dear Mr. Shenoy, we’ve been making consistent efforts to offer you and Fluffy to fly on the next available flight since yesterday, after Fluffy could not fly in the cabin as our Commander had some reservations about its cage and muzzle. 1/n
“Our laid-down Policy for the Carriage of Pets on Domestic Flights clearly mentions that “pet carriage is subject to the approval of the commander of the flight”

“This is false information, if this was the case your team would not have given her a boarding pass. We went through all the verification of the qualification of Fluffy”s travel eligibility and fitness 4 hours before the flight. Please stop pedalling white lies.” (sic).

As a ‘goodwill gesture’ Air India additionally offered the family a revalidation of their tickets and asked the family to accept the offer
The Tata-owned airline tweeted,
“However, as a goodwill gesture, we are offering you a revalidation of your tickets for the entire journey tomorrow. Kindly accept our humble offer as we would love Fluffy to fly with us”

But no one from the airline contacted them as claimed by the distressed passenger. He said that they just posted their responses on Twitter as a response to the huge backlash. He tweeted,
“Where did you disappear, you wanted my number and details, after sharing no call nothing. This shows it was a response just to reduce the backlash”
Mr. Shenoy concluded,
“This proves that the response was a sham and as of this tweet 23.27pm, I have had no communication whatsoever from @airindiain. I rest my case and they are #antipet and are #liars.,”
Sachin Shenoy also requested everyone to sign a petition to bring about a change in the pet boarding guidelines on Indian flights
Daylight robbery is not quite usual but it does not strike out the fact that it is highly possible. Many a time cases as such have surfaced online where normal people were robbed in broad daylight. Recently, the passengers in a taxi got robbed inside the Pragati Maidan tunnel in Delhi on Saturday afternoon.
Four men rob taxi passengers at gunpoint in broad daylight and here is what Delhi Police have to say
On Saturday, a delivery agent and his associate were robbed at gunpoint by a group of unknown assailants, stealing around Rs 1.5 to Rs 2 lakh cash from them. In spite of having 16 security guards in the Pragati Tunnel, there were no CCTV cameras installed. Although the Public Works Department assured that cameras are installed, they did not confirm their operational conditions.
The victims made a complaint at Tilak Marg police station later in the evening. The Pragati tunnel is a 1.5 km tunnel that connects New Delhi with Sarai Kale Khan and Noida. The police said that following the complaint made by the victims, a case has been filed under Sections 397 IPC which covers robbery, or dacoity with an attempt to cause death or grievous hurt and 34 (common intention).
The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Pranav Tayal, has shared that the complainant can be identified as Patel Sajan Kumar and his associate Jigar Patel. Patel Sajan works as a delivery agent for a private firm in Chandni Chow and has informed the police that he and Jigar were going to Gurugram to deliver the cash to a client.
As per the registered complaint, the two of them hired an Ola cab from near Red Fort. As soon as the cab entered the Pragati Maidan tunnel from Ring Road, four assailants on two motorcycles surrounded their cab and robbed the cash off them keeping them at gunpoint.
Delhi Minister Atishi also took to Twitter and slammed the incompetency of the Lieutenant Governor. She tweeted,
Coming across train service complaints on social media is nothing new. Very often than not we find passengers complaining about bland food or bugs in the cooked food provided to them. Quite recently someone took to Twitter regarding a complaint where they found plastic in the railway food. But the latest thing that happened has actually stunned everyone when a video of the roof of a passenger coach train surfaced online.
Indian Railways slammed over water leakage in AC coach
Netizens have harshly criticized the poor management and maintenance of the train coaches after a surprising video surfaced online. Recently, a video went viral on social media platforms in which it can be clearly seen rainwater seeping in through the roof of the 2-tier AC coach of the Avantika Express. The Congress party also reshared the video uploaded by a passenger and took to Twitter to play the blame game immediately.
“काश खोखले प्रचार की जगह रेलवे के लिए कुछ काम किया होता। झंडी दिखाने वाले रेल मंत्री अभी विदेश में हैं, नाम वाले रेल मंत्री ध्यान दें। (Wish some actual work would have been done for the Railways in place of empty propaganda. The railway minister who shows the flag is currently abroad, the named railway minister should pay attention)”

It was a jab at the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, who recently flagged off 11 Vande Bharat Express, the Railways’ newest hi-tech train.
Railways response to the above-mentioned tweet
The Western Railway took to Twitter to respond to that tweet hours later and stated that all the coaches of the Avantika Express train were properly checked.
“All coaches of Avantika Exp have been checked thoroughly & issue has been attended to promptly. The train has commenced its return journey & there are no such issues now. Passenger convenience is of utmost priority & WR leaves no stone unturned to resolve passengers’ grievances”

This is probably not the first time that something has happened as per the claims of this Twitter user,
Recently travelled from 12424 Rajdhani Express to #Guwahati , had a very bad experience. As it was raining the rainwater was leaking in every coach and also there was no water in most of the dirty toilets. TTE ignored the complaint and asked to register complaint via phone.
