When we mention the world of comedy, the first person who we think about is probably Kapil Sharma. Many say that even though many stand-up comedians have made a name for themselves, Kapil Sharma is on another level.
All the peaks Kapil Sharma reached was only through his dedication and hard work. He made his first television appearance in the 2007 show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge and was soon eliminated. Later he came back to the show with a wild card entry and won the show. He is also a great singer and was also praised by Lata Mangeshkar when he participated in the show Star Ya Rockstar in 2011. Later he made a career out of his god gifted comedic skills and launched his own show Comedy Nights with Kapil in 2013. Kapil has also worked in a few Bollywood movies which include Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, Firangi and Son Of Manjeet Singh.
Apart from these, Kapil Sharma was also offered roles in a few more films, but he rejected them. Here are the films rejected by Kapil:
1. Mubarakan
Mubarakan is a 2017 romantic comedy film directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Sony Pictures Network Production. The film starred Anil Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Ileana D’Cruz, Athiya Shetty, Neha Sharma and Ratna Pathak.
Anil Kapoor once approached Kapil Sharma for a role in the film, however, Kapil declined the offer. In a recent interaction between them, when Anil asked the reason for declining the offer, he didn’t say much and just said,
“Sir please continue offering me good projects”.
Anil then responds satirically and says,
“You know I do support roles, character roles, father roles these days. support the role of your father or brother, tell me.”
Kapil then humorously replied,
“Both our eyes get shut when we laugh, we will even look like father and son. But I am afraid that you may be signed on for the role of the father and I may be the one looking like the father on screen.” later, he also promoted Anil Kapoor on Instagram and captioned “Meet the evergreen superstar @anilskapoor, sir, in #tkss tonight.”
Tezz is a 2012 action thriller film directed by Priyadarshan. The film starred actors like Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, Zayed Khan, Sameer Reddy and Boman Irani. The film was a flop since it failed at the box office.
Kapil Sharma was offered a role in the film, but he rejected it.
Bank Chor is a 2017 black comedy film starring Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Rhea Chakraborty. The film was also a flop with a box office earning of Rs. 0.007 crore. The film was under Yash Raj Films. It was also Vivek Oberoi’s first comeback after fifteen years under Yash Raj Films.
When Kapil Sharma was offered a role in the film, he didn’t quite liked the plot of the story and therefore rejected the offer.
Woh Saat Din is a 1983 film which starred prominent actors like Anil Kapoor, Padmini Kolhapure and Naseeruddin Shah. The film was a Hindi romantic film directed by Bapu. The film helped Anil Kapoor gain recognition in the film industry and also brought him offers for many more movies.
When the talks of the remake for the film ‘Woh Saat Din’ arose, the crew’s choice for the cast also included Kapil Sharma. However, he declined the offer for getting cast.
24 is a 2013 Indian action-thriller television series that aired on Colors TV. The story was based on the American series of the same name. The series starred actors like Anil Kapoor, Tisca Chopra, Neil Bhoopalam, Yuri Suri and Mandira Bedi. One of the producers was Anil Kapoor himself. The series also had a second instalment which aired in 2016. The series also received a positive review from the audience.
Anil Kapoor once offered a role to Kapil Sharma in the film, but Kapil rejected it. When he was later asked to explain the reason, he said that he was very excited to be a part of the TV series, but due to his upcoming show, he declined the offer.
India Poochega Sabse Shaana Kaun is an Indian reality show hosted by the prominent actor Shahrukh Khan. The show was an adaptation from the International format of Who’s Asking. The show premiered on 2 March 2015. Many celebrity appearances were made in the show which included Karan Johar, Yuvraj Singh, Sushant Sing Rajput, Upasana Singh, Alia Bhatt and Anushka Sharma.
Kapil Sharma was also offered to make a guest appearance in the show. However, he rejected it.
