24-Year-Old IT Engineer Earning Rs 58 Lakh Package Speaks About ‘Loneliness’, Sparks Online Debate

Another such conversation was recently sparked after a note by a 24-year-old Bengaluru software engineer who wrote about the overwhelming loneliness in his life despite earning 58 lakhs a year.

Recently, a post by a 24-year-old software engineer opened up about his loneliness despite earning Rs 58 LPA
The note was originally posted on Grapevine Corporate Chat, an anonymous app for professionals. However, it pulled the attention of the people when a Twitter user re-shared it with the caption, “The other India”. In spite of having the ease of living, in his post, he shared that he often finds himself lonely and overwhelmed.
He does not have a girlfriend to share his life with, and his friends are busy with their own lives. His work life has hit monotonicity since he has been with the same company from the beginning of his career.
Urban loneliness or the loneliness that accompanies modern living is a serious thing eating away at the youthfulness of society

“Feeling saturated in life. I am a 24 year old Software Engineer in an FAANG company with 2.9 years of experience living in Bangalore. I make a good living (58lpa before taxes) and have a somewhat relaxed work life. However, I am always overwhelmed and lonely in my life. I don’t have a girlfriend to spend time with, and all of my other buddies are preoccupied with their lives. Even my work life is monotonous because I have been with the same company from the beginning of my career and do similar things every day, and I no longer look forward to fresh challenges and growth opportunities at work. Please advise on what I should do to make my life more interesting. (Don’t say ‘go to the gym,’ because I already go)”

The post was shared on April 19. After being tweeted, it has accumulated around 1.8 lakh views and the numbers are ever-increasing. Many people found it relatable and a real rising issue in this society. Furthermore, the share has gathered more than 800 likes.
