The film is based on a cub named Simba and his dad, being the ruler of the forest. Spoiler, when Simba cried looking at his father die at such a young age broke the hearts. Just because of the wicked uncle who killed Simba’s dad, it really made Simba go into a deep depression at such a young age.
3. Five Feet Apart – 2019
The 2019 film, directed by Justin Badloni supposedly made most of its viewers cry. Stella (Hailey Lu Richardson) and Will (Cole Sprouse), both meet at a hospital, since they’re diagnosed with the deadly lung disease, CF. Eventually, they fell in love, but they always had to stay five feet away from each other, since it was a rule for them to follow. Spoiler alert, the scene where Stella got to know she lost her best friend Poe. And when Stella couldn’t talk while Will walked away, broke the hearts of the viewers in several million pieces.
4. The Fault In Our Stars – 2014
The movie is an adaptation of the book itself written by John Green. It talks about two teenagers, who met each other through a cancer support group, eventually they fall in love, knowing that none of them has much time to survive due to their severe disease. Yet they tried to be optimistic about the situations, fulfilled some of their dreams together, Starred by Shailene Woodley (Hazel Grace Lancaster) and Ansel Elgort (Augustus Waters), this movie will definitely make you go through an emotional roller-coaster. It would make you laugh at times and cry at the most unexpected moments.
5. Me Before You – 2016
Louisa Clarke (Emilia Clark) was hired by Mrs. Traynor as her paralyzed son, Will Traynor’s (Sam Claffin) caretaker, mainly to cheer him up since the accident happened. Though they were polar opposites, they made each other happy. Lou did all that she did for him, and he motivated Lou to do all the activities she was scared of. But at the end of the story, things do not go in the direction we wanted them to go. Perhaps, heartbreak for the viewers.
6. Jojo Rabbit – 2019
Jojo is the boring protagonist for the story, he loved the ideologies of his imaginary friend, Adolf Hilter. But one day he finds out his single mother was hiding a Jewish girl in their house. That’s when his entire perspective changed. Though the movie is banned in some states due to the controversial plot and story script, the story is really heartbreaking.
7. Forrest Gump – 1994
Tom Hanks, as Forrest Gump, is one of the major attractions in this film. From having problems in walking to being one of the best runners, Forrest proved it all. But then as time passes he realizes he was tired of running, physically and metaphorically. Once he gets back to the one he loves, something unexpected happens, leaving the viewers in awe and uncontrollable tear streams.
8. Dead Poets Society – 1989
John Keating (Robin Williams), an English teacher is introduced to the students in a boy’s school. Instead of teaching what the book asks him to, he teaches things practically, he taught how important poetry is to human life, “carpe diem”. The bravery of following one’s own path. Though this movie was expected to have a good ending, it took an unexpected turn midway. This movie is made for literature enthusiasts, but it surely made millions tear up like little babies.

Yet again, Disney takes the lead. Inside Out is supposedly one of the most emotional movies by Disney. It talks about all the emotions the character Riley feels. In the meantime , Riley goes into depression. Which might be due to her coping mechanism or maybe an effect of her past trauma.
10. Blue Valentine – 2010
Featuring Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams, the film is an incredibly sad one. Based on an abortion that should have gone ahead, but the complexity behind it is portrayed pretty well. This movie may not make you cry and wail, but it surely will leave you in a sense of awe and make you feel terrible for Charlie. The high school student Charlie, suffers from terrible mental illness, anxiety, and severe depression since an event that happened with his aunt. This incredibly sad movie, with a lot of fan theory, has proven that films can break hearts terribly too.

If you’re a diehard dog lover and would do anything for your child that is your dog, this movie is for you. Started by Richard Gere, Joan Allen, and many more, Hachiko, the dog shows his unconditional love for his owner. The situation does not lead to the direction we wanted it to be.
