Lutyens’ Delhi has always attracted people from all places. Anyone traveling to Delhi surely makes a plan to visit the lush green area in the heart of city. The place have been spot for walk, job and cycling for decades.

Over the past few weeks, the iconic Rajpath strech which has India Gate as the backdrop has witnessed a drastic change as the construction of government ambitious Central Vista project takes place. Trenches have been dug on the sides of road, the iconic chain link fence and lamp post along the Rajpath are being taken down. The road which leads to Rashtrapati Bhavan is also fenced with yellow boards set up by CPWD (Central Public Works Department), which reads, Development/ Redevelopment of Central Vista Avenue.

What is Central Vista Project?

The Central Vista is a redevelopment project of Narendra Modi government which is estimated to cost around Rs 20,000 crore. The project aims to redevelop 3.2 of land around the heart of Lutyens’ Delhi which is the administrative centre of the Government of India.
